If you send a note in with your student, they should come to the attendance office to get a pass for early dismissal. Your student will be released from class and you don’t need to call in at the time of dismissal. Please help our attendance staff meet the needs of all families by following these guidelines when your student needs to be dismissed from school early. If you call the attendance office and there is no answer, please leave a voicemail message.
Kemerton is expected to have an initial capacity of about 50,000 metric tons LCE of lithium hydroxide. Physicals must be completed annually and are valid from May 1 thru June 30 of the upcoming school year. Virginia High School League Policy states no student may participate in any conditioning, open gym, practice, or competition without a current physical.

Students registering for athletics must have a current physical examination on file in the athletic department before the student is authorized to participate in practice/tryouts. Working together as a team, we will end the predictive value of race, class, gender, and special capacities for our children’s success through high quality teaching and learning for all. We seek to build relationships with families and communities to ensure that every student succeeds.
We will have your student released based on your message, so please do not call, again. Repeated calls to attendance simply make it harder for staff to keep up. The Kemerton plant marks the beginning of a brand-new lithium refining industry in Western Australia. The materials we intend to produce are expected to contribute to global energy storage and electric transport solutions.
After School Care
If you come to school to pick up your student without having sent a note or called earlier, please call from the curbside. Again, if there is no answer, please leave a message as it will be retrieved right away. At the very end of the day, when call volume is high, we will call your student down in the order that calls have come in. If you call ahead to inform us of an early dismissal, please call at least 45 minutes before your student needs to be released, so we can have them released on time. In 2019, Albemarle Corporation commenced construction at the Kemerton Strategic Industrial Area in Western Australia to develop the Kemerton lithium hydroxide processing plant (“Kemerton”). Construction is now complete and Kemerton will process spodumene ore to produce lithium hydroxide product and a sodium sulfate by-product.
